Re: Show us your latest purchase - Summer 2019/20

Looks like there's a few threads on having to calibrate them. Guessing changes in pressure, humidity and whatever banging around in shipping could throw them a bit off.

If the credit runs out soon, chocolates or lollies from Myer, USB drives or coffee stuff from Good Guys and I guess hand warmers from Kathmandu.

Re: Windows 7 End of Life Support

If it works generally management don't care. If they can save $20 per device over 5000 devices, they'll take that option even if the end user experience is worse and costs more in lost productivity. They get upgraded devices of course since they are busy.

Re: Windows 7 End of Life Support

If they've only just done it, probably should have skipped straight to 10.
I'm somewhat looking forward to being able to put Windows 7 on my outdated devices reports. Am I a bad person?

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

Given Iraq voted to boot out all of the US troops a few days ago, hopefully he'll just announce a withdrawal from Iraq.

How much oil do they have left?

On the plus side, one of them turned up today. Had to go pick it up from the post office since it missed the morning post out.

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

Has postal service gone a bit more stupid than normal for anyone else this year? Ordered some stuff from overseas between middle and end of November expecting it to be here by Christmas. For one package only 1/3 of it turned up, the rest is being reshipped. For the other, they didn't even bother sen...

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

I'm going to miss Windows Phone. I loved the GUI... it was so much more convenient to download apps, have them all drop into the app list and I can pick from that list what I wanted to put on my main tiles page. With Android (and I assume iOS too), all the apps get dumped on the phones' desktop and...

Re: First build since 2013.. help!

I wouldn't bother with the liquid cooler for the CPU, plus that one has been discontinued apparently. There's a bunch of mid-range air coolers with pretty lights now.
Also would be looking at the new AMD CPUs. A bit more performance generally for less cost - Intel has fallen behind.

Nice shilling, but a VPN won't save you if they get the emails, SMS and bank records directly from the companies that hold them.

Do they have one of those as a stick lighter? The piezo has died in my BBQ so currently lighting with a candle gas lighter like some sort of savage.

Trying to get games redeemed for various bonus offers is horrible. What happened to just getting a game code in the box? So far of 3 I've had 1. This one worked, but the instructions for how to do it were written in terrible Engrish, had to get a code from the hardware itself after it's already inst...

Copy Apple? Apple haven't had an original idea since Jobs died.
They've been doing it since before he died. Even before then I always found their phones to be a bit garbage, especially the one that only supported Windows 98 connections that was released well after XP was a thing.

Android is fine, it's Samsung's attempts to copy Apple that make their products a bit garbage.

There's a real simple solution if you dont like the model, dont buy their products.

The customer(market) is always right.
Yep, a lot of pirates don't buy the products :)

Was thinking of the Maldives next year, maybe they can built the villas on bigger stilts?

BTW Bali was awesome. I think the bad reputation comes from bogans hanging out on the beachfront/bars in Kuta, but the rest of the island is great :)

Definitely worth some time otherwise they will keep doing it. I would say give it a couple of hours worth, then send it through the TIO.
