Re: Show us your latest purchase - Winter 2019

That doesn't surprise me - when trained professionals can't build a house to code in that time, how would amateurs?

Re: Show us your latest purchase - Winter 2019

Reminds me of the room at my aunties house where nobody was allowed to go in when we were kids. Had all the fine china and horrendous furniture in it :) The Block was full of "jewel toned velvet" last year and I swear to god if that repeats this season I will lose my fucking mind, because "je...

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

At the risk of making people feel awkward, as someone who has spent an awful lot of money and 5+ years fighting infertility in the attempt to start a family, could I respectfully ask that the topic of "putting one in the oven" not be discussed quite so flippantly?

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

No, you leave shit everywhere... but if I'm really off my rocker, you understand that the putting away of things and reduction of visual clutter can often help bring some sense of calm. I do need to address the fridge this evening though, I'm not coping with that situation at all.

Having a clean, organised space really helps my mental wellbeing.... aaaaand makes it easier for Disco to pick up any slack and keep things under control when my mental health is not great.

If you want some inspo, jump on instagram and look for hashtags like #konmari #declutter #homeorganisation etc.

Re: Show us your latest purchase - Winter 2019

Bought some 'activewear' as, despite the massive dump of snow on the weekend, spring is just around the corner and I like to get out walking the puppers when the weather is nice.

Re: Show us your latest purchase - Winter 2019

Disco's boss slung as a little $200 cash bonus a week or two ago, so we put them towards some comfy chairs for sitting/reading in the sunshine.

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

Oh right, no, most of my books are fiction and read for pleasure... so it's either a shit book that wasted a week of my life and I want it gone, or it's a fabulous book and I take it into work to share with my volunteer team and they return the favour when they buy a book and think it's great. It wa...

Once all the animals are gone we’ll be happy to have vegans.... until we run out of them too [emoji12]
Just be mindful of eating too many vegans, Kharis, it seems they're pretty salty.

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

For all intents and purposes, I don't think I'm the one who is 'riled up' here.

You might need a bit of counselling, because you obviously stewed in your juices for 45 minutes and then came back for another crack

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

What other people eat is of little interest to me, I'm not "down on vegans", the more vegans there are, the more meat that's left for the rest of us  This has been misinterpreted as a shot at vegans when my issue has nothing to do with vegans and what they will/won't eat or wear, it's all t...

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

.... is it wrong to try to reference leather in a description? I'm really not so sure. If it was "vegan cow hide", I think it would be more contentious. You are aware that the very definition of 'leather' is a material made from the skin of an animal by tanning or a similar process, right? It's act...

Upgraded from IQ3 to IQ4, just for the simplicity of being able to access Netflix through the Foxtel box.

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

I've noticed the latest craze is to call things "vegan-whatever" rather than calling them what they are.

For example, saying a jacket is "Vegan Leather" rather than "polyurethane".

I feel like it can be misleading at times to the ill-informed and/or not so bright.

Re: Show us your latest purchase - Winter 2019

Went to a little local/handmade pop up shop this morning and picked up these: https://i.imgur.com/650DFH7.jpg The Porcini Mushroom is just a mixture of sea salt, lake salt and dried porcini mushroom and it's an amazing addition to mashed potato. The Salt & Spice Rub is a mixture of sea salt, cumin, ...

Beard hair isn't "prickly" though, not if it's properly groomed, oiled and cared for .... she's less likely to find irritation from a full beard than she is electric shaver stubble.

I am fully prepared for Friday's arrival, but alas, it's only Thursday.... still, the weekend is so close, I can almost smell it.
