Re: Cyberpunk 2077

Surprised nobody's posted the new trailer yet

Going to resist pre-ordering because I don't like what it encourages in publishers, even if CD Projekt is a pretty good publisher.

Was it Golden Key? I remember them trying to expand by offering just about anybody at my uni membership for whatever their high fee was.

Re: Federal Election May 18, 2019!

Personally I think truth in election advertising really needs to be looked at. There were a bunch of ads around that were 100% bullshit but they were legal because somebody authorised them.
Given the current 2 parties it's not likely to happen but it would be nice.

Re: Game of Thrones (Season 8) - SPOILERS

It was OK at best. I think people are disappointed mostly because the other seasons were great, so the let down from falling from that lofty perch has people angry. Other seasons were getting rated at around 9 or higher. This season started at 8 and just kept dropping, especially after Winterfell. L...

Re: Game of Thrones (Season 8) - SPOILERS

I agree that the general cinematography and directing is top notch (barring some of the Battle of Winterfell), but the writing, pacing and order of events is a bit ehhhhhh.

Re: Federal Election May 18, 2019!

I'm OK with the bar being pretty low. Upholds more of the democratic principles while also acting as a handy survey of the variety of motivated nutters out in the community. I wouldn't take that cheat sheet as anything close to gospel. The headline often doesn't have much to do with what the party i...

You could always direct them to the YouTube clip of the various actors giving their brief reviews of the final season. It will probably put them off though.

She's also shown those tendencies in earlier seasons with burning of people who displease her, particularly in Westeros.
Seems a little pointless that she sent in the army when she was going to nuke the whole city anyway.

Clive Palmer would you believe  Not that anyone should believe a thing that crook says.
Certainly not after he spammed so many people with SMSes. It's pretty obvious he's just there for Clive, whatever policies he puts forward are just to get himself elected.

I really should stop paying too much attention to the siege weapons they use. Now we have magic ballistae. The show does have a lot of fantasy and magic elements but with a distinct grounding in reality, this last season seems to have just gone "fuck it". FWIW there is no way a ballista that size sh...

It was still enjoyable, but there were a few dumb bits Why did the Dothraki charge off into the darkness alone against a huge horde? Apart from the spectacle, they didn't seem to make an impact Daenerys landing the dragon in the middle of the enemy army, followed by staring after Jon while the drago...

Tesla's fast charge currently does 80% in 30 minutes. That's about 400 KM (you should be taking a break driving this long anyway).

Tech will improve, but I agree for the rural folk the plug in hybrids are probably a better option for the foreseeable future.
