Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

Was thinking about a trip to Kenya at the end of the year/start of next. Enquired at my GP about shots I'd need. $600-800 and 2 months lead time. Jesus.

Re: What are you watching?

Third season of Lethal Weapon has started (With Seann William Scott instead of the guy who played Riggs). I thought the first episode was pretty good.

Re: What are you watching?

Finished with BoJack. It turned out fine in the end. I enjoyed it, no real complaints.

Started on Ozark season 2. Watch 5 or 6 episodes and stopped. It's gotten too formulaic. The plot takes one step forward, then two steps back. Every single time. I got tired of it.

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

NBN (fttn) available at my house now! Apparently. Blah. I really can't be arsed going through the process of working all that stuff out. I think I'll just stick with ADSL for a couple months, see if any decent deals or information filters through in the meantime.

Re: What are you watching?

Season 5 of BoJack Horseman as well. I don't actually remember the past seasons so well. But I'm pretty sure they didn't focus on the supporting characters nearly as much as they have this season. Only half way through at the moment, but it feels like a "We've run out of ideas with what to do with B...

That feeling when you've spent a week working on a 5000 word assignment and on the day it's due you stumble across a comprehensive 300 page report addressing your exact topic. I worked so damn hard creating my layout/topics/sources annnnd now here they all are in black and white with a billion refer...

Re: What are you watching?

The Jack Ryan series on Amazon goes alright. Only a couple episodes in, but my goodness is it some high budget stuff. Fingers crossed the story lives up to the money they seem to have spent on it.

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

Went for my HR driving test today. Had a good yarn with the assessor while doing it, wandered all over town, my hour of driving was up before I even realised. Passed without any problems at all.

So much less stressful than I remember my car license being.

So it's like a bigger, better and less clunky Deus Ex. I'd buy that.

I wish the media would stop giving Tony Abbott air time. I mean, I get why they're doing it - He's just an out and out shit stirrer and that makes for good TV. But I can't see how it's doing Australia any good.

Just got one of those spam solicitation type emails literally titled "[SPAM] Hello My Friend,"

Not entirely sure who they're targeting with that one. People who appreciate honesty but are also inexplicably trusting?

Invariably drop any vegetable I'm peeling at least once. Held onto a spud extra tight tonight to try and break the trend. Cut my finger with the peeler for the first time ever instead. Fuck.

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

So I always thought the Ibis (bin-chicken) had pretty much just expanded into urban areas and was simply being a bit of a pest. But for a large part it's actually been properly displaced from its original wetlands (by us) and the urban populations are now a significant part of the whole. Which is fa...

Do Kettle chips have flavours that just come and go? I almost never buy them, but I tried a packet a while back to see if they were still painfully hard to chew (they're not) and I've never seen that flavour again. Rosemary and sea-salt. I quite liked them.

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

My interview was for the same position I unsuccessfully interviewed for in October last year - the guy that did get it got promoted and is moving on. They had the same interview questions. For which I received extensive feedback on after my first interview. I don't know if I'm going to get an offer,...

I think Reddit might be bad for me. But I dunno. I've learned a shit-ton of interesting things from browsing there, with a fair bit of it being genuinely beneficial to me. But holy crap do I waste a lot of time on a lot of nothing to get to that stuff. I don't know how to quantify the two to weigh o...

That model is super cool. I love that interior idea. Nobody else but you might ever know it has one, but it doesn't matter I don't think. All of the fun of models is in building them, not displaying them.

we drove from Mount Isa across to Townsville (Over 1200km all up) The Flinders Hwy is a hell of a drive isn't it? I did that drive about 7yrs back to inspect industrial estates in the region. Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

Didn't end up getting that job in the Gulf. Finally got home again from the trip tonight. Partly because they've had a few problems on their end setting everything up (so there's not an entire fulltime job to do and no clear indication when there will be), but it was a bit my fault as well. Really p...
