Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

Yeah why not I think. Flying to Mt Isa on the 28th and then driving up to check everything out. Probably start a few weeks after that if both them and I think I'd do alright at it. It's primarily to do with pasture trials and improving the land the cattle stations use. But once those R&D types get a...

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

Been offered a job in far north Queensland up around the gulf. Completely out of the blue, someone on a panel for a job I interviewed for more than 12 months ago (and didn't get) passed my number onto someone else who was looking for someone to do something similar (specificities!). I'm really strug...

Re: What are you watching?

I've started web browsing while watching the last few episodes of Westworld. Not a good sign at all. How could it all go downhill so quickly after that great first season?

Re: What are you watching?

What does your brother do, Sath? I need some help with flick selection. Every Saturday we rent a movie off the xbox store but we're running out of options. Of what we haven't seen, our choices are; Game Night Den of Thieves Death Wish Transformers: The Last Knight Downsizing Red Sparrow The Dark To...

Matthew really seems to have a preference for beaches, boats and warm climates in his movies. I wonder if he actually searches that stuff out in potential scripts.

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

This god damn lecturer at uni is pissing me off.

I have a suspicion that he's actually a bit shit at his job and maybe should have stuck to research.

See how we go talking to him about how he marks assignments with a polite email.

I mean it looks cool. But my goodness were there a lot of cliche movie lines in that second trailer. Probably will see it, but probably not for the dialogue, lol.

Re: What are you watching?

Killing Eve. It's got Sandra Oh in it and a psychopathic assassin and it's properly entertaining. Not very heavy on the drama but still serious enough and they move things along at a rapid pace. I'd recommend giving it a watch. And the whole first season is on Iview! Was quite surprised to see that ...

Re: Mellie's Random Game Discussion Thread

Because of the Steam promotional thing on atm I finally gave Left 4 Dead (2) a go. I really liked that, I was expecting something.. I dunno. Clunkier and a little more survival orientated I guess. But no, just a fun shooter.

Re: Mellie's Random Game Discussion Thread

I got really lucky and managed to collect 3 Hunchbacks (mediums) super early. I ran them all the way till I started facing assault mechs and finally had to concede that maybe I needed more armour. Best mech I've found, only had middling opinions on it before now from using it in other Mechwarrior ga...

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

Looks like that's the case in Victoria. But I think I'm out of luck in Queensland. Googling a bit, I could potentially have a go at writing a letter saying how well behaved I've been and it's "totally out of character" for this to happen and could you please be nice? But I don't know. $160 and one p...

Got my first ticket in 18 years of driving. 57km/h in a 50. I feel cheated somehow, it's so close to not even being a thing. But I did actually do it, so no excuses.

Yeah, Infinity War went alright, spot on assessment I reckon Mugsy.

Watched Gone Girl. Left it so long because I figured I knew how it'd go. Turned out I did not know how it would go. I really liked it.

Re: Australian Parliamentarians a nest of dual citizenries

Because laws are laws I guess. Plus it's easier to draw a hard line and enforce it than to try and discern subtle distinctions with this stuff. If we didn't enforce stuff like this we could hypothetically have a bunch of foreigners running our parliament with loyalties belonging primarily to their h...

Re: What are you watching?

Watched Black Panther to get up to speed before I went and saw Avengers, found it pretty underwhelming. Like I have for quite a few of their movies recently, apart from the last Thor one. I don't know. It's really reduced my enthusiasm to go and see another Marvel movie now. I think I might even mak...

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

Got an assignment due today that I intended to spend most of the day working on to finish and polish up a bit. Annd my PC has boot issues. What is this shit? It's like an urban legend has come to life. Not a huge deal though. It's all backed up online and I'm sure I can still find a way. But still, ...

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

Gas is the way to go, from my understanding the gas is safe to use around dwellings as long as you're away for a few hours. Can't imagine clogging up the warren would work, they'd just dig new exits. God damn it. I might have to have a proper look at what gassing them would entail. I know if I did ...

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

So I've got a bit of a problem dealing with rabbits that I wouldn't mind hearing a second opinion on. Guy I know has rabbits that've dug a warren under his garden shed foundation right next to the house. Ideally what you'd do is dig/rip up the warrens, maybe shoot any rabbits you see getting around ...

It's different to X-com. I'd put it at good enough. It's priced right not being a full priced game. Sort of simpler combat - placement and the environment aren't quite as big a deciding factor (If the fight becomes close quarters where positioning becomes a big deal it's because you pushed it to tha...

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

I reckon things must be properly messed up in Gaza for those protestors to be provoking Israel. It's like poking a dog that has an extremely long, very well documented history of biting people that poke it.
