Re: Show us your latest purchase - Spring 2019

Purchased a MY2015 Volkswagen Amarok from one of my brothers for Disco, but have to wait about 6 weeks before we can get up North to collect it and drive it back down here.

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

I'm currently using a tracking app to record what I'm eating and what is in it. Apparently I'm not getting enough sodium or potassium, but I think the database it uses is full of faulty entries for various nutrients. Doesn't really help much. Yeah, I always cross check with the actual product that ...

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

If you're mostly eating for wellness as opposed to weight loss, then you want to focus more on fresh, whole foods that are nutritious. Avoid using "light" or "low fat" alternatives as they are often packed with sugar to make them taste better (particularly dairy products). I wouldn't avoid bread com...

We'll have to take them to a tailor to have some extra ball room added, that's not enough space to contain the beast ;)

Re: Show us your latest purchase - Spring 2019

A partial purchase... there was a standoff at work about me not wearing hats to outside events, so to get me to comply, my work bought me a new hat handmade for my noggin' by a local milliner. They payed for the hat and the black italian silk sash, and I bought an interchangeable dusty pink sash tha...

I think the guitar got fiddled with once.

I gave Mario Kart a play last night, with colour coordinated back lighting :D

Re: Show us your latest purchase - Winter 2019

Reminds me of the room at my aunties house where nobody was allowed to go in when we were kids. Had all the fine china and horrendous furniture in it :) The Block was full of "jewel toned velvet" last year and I swear to god if that repeats this season I will lose my fucking mind, because "je...

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

At the risk of making people feel awkward, as someone who has spent an awful lot of money and 5+ years fighting infertility in the attempt to start a family, could I respectfully ask that the topic of "putting one in the oven" not be discussed quite so flippantly?

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

No, you leave shit everywhere... but if I'm really off my rocker, you understand that the putting away of things and reduction of visual clutter can often help bring some sense of calm. I do need to address the fridge this evening though, I'm not coping with that situation at all.

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

Having a clean, organised space really helps my mental wellbeing.... aaaaand makes it easier for Disco to pick up any slack and keep things under control when my mental health is not great.

If you want some inspo, jump on instagram and look for hashtags like #konmari #declutter #homeorganisation etc.

Bought some 'activewear' as, despite the massive dump of snow on the weekend, spring is just around the corner and I like to get out walking the puppers when the weather is nice.

Disco's boss slung as a little $200 cash bonus a week or two ago, so we put them towards some comfy chairs for sitting/reading in the sunshine.

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

Oh right, no, most of my books are fiction and read for pleasure... so it's either a shit book that wasted a week of my life and I want it gone, or it's a fabulous book and I take it into work to share with my volunteer team and they return the favour when they buy a book and think it's great. It wa...

For all intents and purposes, I don't think I'm the one who is 'riled up' here.

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

What other people eat is of little interest to me, I'm not "down on vegans", the more vegans there are, the more meat that's left for the rest of us  This has been misinterpreted as a shot at vegans when my issue has nothing to do with vegans and what they will/won't eat or wear, it's all t...

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts

.... is it wrong to try to reference leather in a description? I'm really not so sure. If it was "vegan cow hide", I think it would be more contentious. You are aware that the very definition of 'leather' is a material made from the skin of an animal by tanning or a similar process, right? It's act...

Upgraded from IQ3 to IQ4, just for the simplicity of being able to access Netflix through the Foxtel box.
