The first Life is Strange had some good music in it so I'm looking forward to hearing what Before the Storm has got.

I liked both, although I'm nearing the end now and I'm not ready for it to be over, so I've been playing it less lol

What happens when you combine an 80s pop icon with a group of rock gods?

Got tickets to see Ben Folds next week and for the second half of the night, the set list is dictated by the audience (delivered by paper airplanes to the man himself)... so I'm now getting myself back up to speed with his songs.

Will be interesting if he gets a blank on the evening like below...

Been jamming the new PORTAL album all week.

Haven't been this excited about a death metal album since discovering Ulcerate. Just intense from start to finish.

Thank you Ben Folds for giving a great performance tonight.

Here's a dodgy as fuck shot from my phone of the man playing something other than the piano as we usually see him doing...

Image

The only sad part of the night... a lot of the songs I remember him doing that he sang this evening... no one else were singing. The songs I haven't heard before... everyone was singing. I knew going into this that I wasn't with the times but damn it was rubbing it in wasn't it?

Had to go find out who sang Walking in Memphis after someone requested Ben Folds sing it last night. He didn't but he did tell a funny story where he quoted the song.

Saw 28 Days, The Superjesus and Grinspoon on the weekend, Hotter Than Hell mini festival.

Only about 1,000 people, but the crowd was very much 90s style with dickheads throwing beer everywhere and smashing through everyone to get up the front. Lots of weed around too. The group in front of us had a beer can bong...

Discovered Baby Metal... Gimme Chocolate and the album that's from playing on heavy rotation.

Outside of that, just enjoying picking random Spotify playlists based on emotive words (the 'Office' playlist is surprisingly great to play while in the office, for instance!).

Usually, a new album isn't something I look forward to unlike movies. But it's good to see that there's two more albums by the Cranberries that's due for later this year and next year that will feature vocals from Dolores O'Riordan.

Not so much listening to but this popped up in my Youtube feed and... well... I never imagined that the video clip for this song would come off as a cross between Willy Wonka and Doctor Who:

Nope, hasn't been a film clip that I've come across till now. I know the song from classics such as Ferris Bueller and the Simpsons use of it for Duff Man.

Been listening to a lot of piano renditions of pop culture tunes by Lara De Wit lately. She's got a knack of transitioning between tunes somewhat flawlessly.

A week to go before their 25th anniversary re-release and I'm trying to figure out what what's the difference between this demo version and the version I've been listening to all these years...
