Looks great, might have to catch up on some of the Marvel movies I've missed. I have the Infinity Gauntlet comics and many of the Silver Surfer ones leading up to it, has SS been in any of the prior movies?

Not the MCU ones. SS is over at 20th Century Fox unfortunately.

Which is not to say that SS would never appear in a MCU movie. Sony had exclusive rights to Spiderman but after significant negotiations they brought him into the MCU. But yeah unless some massive secret has been kept, we won’t seeing SS in Infinity Wars.

Also I’m peeing my pants in excitement.

Isn't silver surfer attached to the fantastic four rights, unfortunately for us we won't see anything with that till 2024(way after the MCU phases so far) at the earliest thanks to the 10 year rule on the rights :(.

On the topic of Tony Stark, a colleague was giving our work area a presentation on the development application for the armoured personnel carrier factory that's to be built in Brisbane (technically Ipswich) and another colleague said that it was very Tony Stark. The first colleague, a bit older, didn't know who Tony Stark was and this is how the rest of the conversation played out:

First colleague: "I don't know who that is. Is he the skateboarder?"
Second colleague: "No, he's Iron Man"
First colleague: "Oh he's an ironman"
Second colleague: "No he IS Iron Man"

(blank face on first colleague)

Acting Executive Director: "Hold on... you really don't know who Iron Man is?" (the A/ED has an Avengers carry bag for work)

You really can't make this stuff up. Just as hilarious as Patrick Stewart thinking Sting was in a police band.

It's no surprise really, plenty of people haven't heard of lots of things. I remember a time in the late 90's myself and another friend arguing with another friend who just happened to loved a new techno song and how original it was until we told him that, it is good and all but it was a Pink Floyd song (I can't remember which one now). It took him ages to believe that this was the truth and was adamant that we were wrong.

And in recent years a similar situation where my brother and I had to assure one of his daughters that one of her favourite new songs was just a remake of an old song (that might have been another Floyd song or Led Zepplin song). There are plenty of younger people that are just as clueless as that older guy about particular film and music references.

Yeah, I know. I didn't know who Sia was until 1.5-2yrs ago or something (I got to the party late with Chandelier). Hell, I'm still finding out names of the odd band from the 80s to songs that I like but don't know the name of.

But it was just funny seeing the whole situation play out and the inadequate details given in the conversation to try to get the first colleague up to speed with who Tony Stark is.

I think someone eventually blurted out something about a comic book character but I was laughing too much at that point.

I've avoided every bit of promo material for this so far, apart from the Thanos stuff from the trailer that got meme'd to hell.

The payoff was pretty good doing it for Star Wars Rogue One, not so sure about a Marvel movie. But we'll see.
