Hmmm, not sure how this movie is going to pan out. It's apparently based on The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller but the last line of the trailer by the voiceover-guy says that it's only rated PG-13. DKR has a pretty dark storyline and plenty of violence so to only have a PG-13 rating doesn't fill me with confidence that much of the source material will be included. Will just have to wait and see.

Man of Steel was rated PG-13 and that had plenty of biff for me, though of course that's not comparing it to the Frank Miller story which I'm not familiar with.

PG13 has a heavier impact on language I think, people getting punch and shot is still fine (With a lack of blood probably)

Wow they gave away the whole plot by revealing that Batman is Bruce Wayne.

It does now. There is nothing to expect when you see it in cinemas, maybe a cameo form Aquaman thats about it.

Should have stopped at 2:06 min with a voice over and title shot for the other 10/15/25 secs.

It might seem a bit contrived to quote yourself but I think after watching that trailer I think I now know how it will turn out - poo.

I thought the music was a poor choice, but still think the movie looks good.

That was an awful trailer. Poorly cut (what's with that stuttery crap) and revealed too much. The first trailer Comic Con trailer was much better.

That had me up to the last 20 seconds. So now I know the story and it is NOT what I wanted.

Up to that point I was quite keen... i've enjoyed the superman v batman comics in the past and quite liked the idea of a superhero movie not overcrowded with super heroes.

And instead of Jessie Eisenberg, they should have taken the far superior Simon Amstell (they look the same, but Amstell is a genius to watch in action).

Man the trailer just gave away like a heap of potential little plot twists/stuff that they should have kept for the actual movie itself!

I have had my doubts about this from the get go and i still do. Like it looks cool, i just think they're trying to do way too much in one movie.

i would have been happy with a proper man of steel sequel, not this :(

Can confirm that Batman (Batflick) is the best part of this movie imo.

Seconded.

Enjoyable movie, Superman is the worst part (he's so powerful, anything to threaten him has to be stupidly powerful, so things get silly very fast), Old man Bats was great, and I think they've made a good choice in Wonder Woman.

The movie itself is a bit messy, pacing issues, odd jokes that stand out because there was so few of them, still enjoyed it but wish it had been better.

Yep. Thirded (?) :P

I feel that Superman, while being the most powerful, is also just a bit stupid in how he goes about things. Like he's not used to the challenges Bats brings him etc. He just throws himself at it without thinking about it and that'll come with time obviously, but I felt it was good to show Batman being older and wiser about how he goes about his fight.. like strategy and shit compared to Superman who just goes straight in and doesn't really learn about "things" fast.

Overall though I liked it. It did squash some of my concerns and felt they did that well.

I felt somewhat disappointed. It wasn't awful, but nowhere near the potential it had. Tried to squeeze too much in. Lex, Wonderwoman, Jonathon Kent? Robin flashback? Bringing in Doomsday was the tipping point. Not enough Batman vs Superman. Some interesting themes like how the world reacted to the fallout from Superman's previous which levelled half of Metropolis.

DC are probably wanting to get their multi-character universe rolling like Marvel, but throwing the Justice League hints in the main movie was a bit much.

Just saw this earlier. I think I went in expecting a bigger mess so I walked away feeling OK but it could have been so much more.
Definitely crammed too much into the film. Bringing in Doomsday as a means to unite Bats, Supes and WW was a bad call... Doomsday as a threat should be bigger. From memory, Superman and friends had to do several bouts with Doomsday... wearing down Supes quite a bit each battle before the "death" of both of them. The movie incarnation lacked the build up.

Ben Affleck shines as Bruce Wayne/Batman though, and my excitement to see the Wonder Woman film has peaked. Gal Gadot is a believable WW and she's definitely toned up to look the part. I have a feeling these two will carry the Justice League movie.
