Quite enjoyed today's episode. Capaldi must have been ecstatic to have done a few classic monsters in his final run.

Enjoyed today's season finale, though...
Bill being saved by the water chick from episode 1 could be seen from a mile away (or a week away). Since there's not much hope for her once she was converted to a cyberman, that was pretty much what I was expecting since last week's ending. That's two season endings now that the companion has had a bittersweet ending with them buggering off into space with another chick.

You could also see Missy being stabbed in the back by the Master as that whole scene unfolded... but that was quite satisfying to watch unfold none the less.
Looking forward to the xmas special though.

Yeah, I think Capaldi must have found doing the xmas special a real treat alright...
Much deserved too. He's put in a solid effort for his turn as the Doctor.

Yes, it sucks that the writers didn't give him the chance he deserved.

Well, this was short notice...

Guess they must be thinking that they can't keep the secret long enough for us to know from just watching the show.
With this whole, "I can't keep being someone else" thing, and the fact that we know that he'll regenerate into past incarnations down the track, I was hoping that we'd get to see Paul McGann take another crack at the role. His performance in the pre-anniversary short to give him his regeneration was great. Wouldn't mind seeing that sort of performance for a few seasons and it would come off quite nicely with the tone that Capaldi is leaving the Doctor on as a man who's ready to give up everything to help others.

I'm confused...
Is she going to be blonde or a brunette?

Either way... still not ginger.

I swear, that running gag just rules out all red heads from ever becoming the Doctor.
Either way, we may need to wait till 2019 to get the next season. 2018 is gonna be a dry TV year for me since there's no GoT and maybe no Doctor Who. They're literally the only two TV shows I currently watch. May have to catch up on other shows like Westworld and Stranger Things.

So... I take it we'll get a strapping, young lad instead of a nubile, young lass as the main companion? The bookies are gonna have to revise the betting options for the new companion now - lol

And I'd hate to see John Simm's Master meet this Doctor... he was getting a tad too sleazy in that last episode.

Got to laugh at some of the comments out there about this ,people had no problem with the Master being Missy but for some reason the Doctor can't do the same - I'm going to wait and actually see how it plays out and what the stories are like!

Yeah, if the show is good who cares about the gender.

Been a few comments about this new Doctor's ability to park the TARDIS to which I love Colin Baker's response where he asks "Name me one Doctor who was actually good at parking that thing?".

that was brilliant, thanks Mugsy :)

gender isn't important, she is a quality actor and will bring a lot to the Dr. I'm very happy they have chosen her it will re-energise the series.

Decided to rewatch the first (non-canonical) time the Doctor became a woman and it's amazing how many things this skit foreshadowed...

But then it was written by Moffat so I'm not surprised.

The BBCs response to the "WaahWaah the Dr can't be a woman!" brigade - STFU and deal with it

The Sun has done a pretty despicable thing and published some nude shots of Jodie Whittaker.

Who the hell cares? It's not like she's the first woman on Doctor Who to have done a nude scene.

Also just realised the Dalek in your avatar linxus. Love it!
