Aww man it sucks Peter Capaldi wasn't given a REAL chance to be the Doctor.

Not sure how I feel about the new female Doctor. Guess time will tell...
..if the writing is anything like it has been recently - it's gonna be crapola.

Hopefully she lasts longer than the 8th Doctor, else we'll have to wait 10 years before BBC decide to revive it again.

So with the gender change, it seems 'companions' will be called 'friends' now (if the BBC release statement is using official terminology). I guess these are guys and gals who will be stuck in the friend zone:

Isn't that the host of the Chaser UK?
I hope he delivers a line to the doctor like, "And for you Doctor, the chase, is on"

Seriously though, what was wrong with "companion" and the need to change it to "friend"?
Just feels kinda dumbed down and all I can think of is this;

There's quirky and there's that outfit... Not even Tom Baker would approve of that.

Oh look, it has rainbows! How equality!

I got nothing for ya... I was raised to not do things I wouldn't want done to myself. And that's why anal sex is off the agenda.

I'm just thankful I've never seen the second Doctor's original pants in colour...
His dress sense has always been a below average coinflip for each regeneration.

I know it looks odd in photos, but it might look totally different/better on screen.

Nice!

Yeah, it's amazing how many years have passed since the show came back on air. If you check out interviews of Christopher Eccelston, it all comes back to reality. He's aged a tad. Still a damn good actor though.

And interesting reason why Shada was never finished...

Shada was great and I certainly recommend it especially if you like Douglas Adam's wit and satire and the quirkiness of Tom Baker. It's a 5 part 30 minute series that was never finished due to a strike at the BBC and a few other things but works well as a movie... great fun :D

It's almost here... the last taste of Doctor Who for a year or more.

You know, they've had an xmas special every year for as long as I can remember. I wonder if they're going to start off Jodi Whittaker's run with a 2018 special or they will indeed not air anything till 2019.

the Christmas special will also be at the cinema on boxing day at high noon :)

http://www.sharmillfilms.com.au/allfilm ... r-who-xmas

additional to the episode are some behind the scenes footage "celebrating the tenures of Peter Capaldi as the Doctor and Steven Moffat as showrunner and lead writer"
should be a fun event :)

OK, so I can either go watch the xmas special at the movies at 4pm on Boxing Day... or I can just watch it at home at 7:31pm that evening.

I think the main question is what the hell am I doing on boxing day?
