Huge fan of the original, So I hope this one is as good (if not better) as that. As to Will Smith, he may be too busy.... http://www.cbsnews.com/news/will-smith- ... president/

That....actually looks ok. Sure it won't win any Oscars but if it gives me a good popcorn movie experience then yeah.

While I don't have the scars any more, I still remember the feeling of where the girl I was with dug her fingernails into my leg when she got a fright when the alien slammed Commander Data into the glass.

To this day, I thank God it was only my leg she had her hand on... :dodgy:

I liked the first, and am slightly hyped for this, but part of me is trying to hope that this won't flop.

It's been a while since there's been a properly "big" movie, at least I can't think of any off the top of my head. If Star Wars doesn't do it, this'll fill that hole for sure.

When they were dating, my Dad took my Mum to see Jaws 2 in the cinemas. Rumour has it, Dad got to hold onto her so closely she became pregnant and that's how they had me!

It won't be big unless it comes with a "big" speech before the final battle and a salute to end all salutes.

Also, love the Screen Junkies dreamed up ID2 trailer...

Well the first Big Dumb Fun refloated a dead movie studio and revitalized a genre so this has some shoes to fill

I love that last trailer. While a lot would have changed for those on earth, it's hard to imagine that the aliens would change that much when they return.

For a race (humans) that were given a massive wake up call and forced to make major changes, it makes sense (in a world where everyone agrees) we would prepare ourselves with the best defenses we could muster etc, but would the Aliens, who basically have been "rinse and repeating" the same technique on God knows how many planets before they got to earth, would they consider what happened here as a inevitable defeat or a just a fluke and would that be enough to think they need to change the way they do things?

You do something 1000 times and it works and then suddenly it doesn't, odds are you probably fucked up or they just got lucky. Other then "moar" of everything being sent at us (bigger ship from trailer), I don't think they would change that much but of course in the movie that won't be the case.

You have to think that they're an intelligent being and that they may have actually changed the way they do things after seeing how they were defeated. They maybe realised weaknesses and things to improve, regardless if it has worked a 1000 times before the defeat on Earth.
