Normally I only have a lunchtime beer when it's a team celebration. It's more that I like the idea of being able to have one without feeling like I'm violating some taboo to do so.

There is a Canadian Doug works in IT and he forgets to put the A in the middle so I've gotten so much of his work stuff. always getting emails for jobs and I've started replying to them correcting them to the actual email address because forwarding them straight to Doug wasn't stopping him from giving out the wrong email, I figured maybe if he started to look dumb to his customers he'd do something about it. It worked.
This happens to me constantly.

Just so you know, Kate has booked an overseas trip.

Thank god this day is all said and done.... Got some lamb in the slow cooker and veggies in the oven and the boss has given me tomorrow off. Going to smash out as much housework as I can tonight once bub goes to bed so I can make the most of my 3 day weekend.

Washing is a bastard chore at the moment. Pretty much constant rain since we got home Sunday, haven't seen the sun at all.

I've got a very social office where I work, and a pub just up the road... Fridays are traditionally a pub lunch day and there have been times when I've counted 4 or 5 separate tables with our staff, vendors and customers  Our Christmas parties are pretty great too :)

Our staff work hard when its called on so its great the the company recognises that and allows a few plusses in return :) As an example, I've been doing a lot of interstate travel lately (which generally means long hours) so my manager out of the blue told me I could have the day after Australia Day as a free day off as time in lieu, which was nice.

Did they let you know why you didn't get the job? If not then give them a call and ask to have a chat to the person who did the selection process about it.
Sent him an email about that as soon as I got the notification actually. He got back to me right away... saying he'd do it next week. I figure that's better than a phone call, he's got a bit of time to check his notes and think about it. Also this way he can't hear me cry when he says hurtfully true things.

I read this article about our shifting attitudes towards lunchtime drinking. It really hammered home to me just how absurd things have gotten.

At least caffeine is damn near mandatory, so I can freely overload on that on a daily basis.

My new boss is good like that too, she also gave me that day off which was much appreciated.

I don't have a problem with lunchtime drinking IF you are 'out to lunch' and it is only one or two drinks... this was very common when I worked for DLA Phillips Fox in Brisbane. I reckon at least 2-3 lunches every week involved a glass or two of wine or bubbly, and there was always booze flowing in the Partner's lounge.

I think there's a difference between one social drink over lunch and sneaking into a bar alone to down 4+ drinks in your lunch break though.

Co-worker made a smart arse and fucking rude comment about me, thinking I was elsewhere (I was in the next room). I proceed to move into the room he was in and called said co-worker a cunt. He turned to me and said the feeling was mutual.

All said within ear shot of the sarge.

Had a chat with the sarge after the cunt left, I aired my thoughts on the matter and she said she agreed with me and that she'll be putting it to the boss what happened, defending my actions.

Going to be a fun shift tonight when I work with him again.

Riggs and Murtaugh didn't get along at the start of Lethal Weapon even but then they ended up best friends, is there a group of corrupt South African politicians you can take down together?

Otherwise I agree with Disco.

I'm not sure if it is the office at work, or the weather which is worse...
Outside it is currently 36...
My part of the office 23...

The difference walking between the 2 zones is ridiculous

So, money is tight...

Looking for something to eat...
Hmm some tortillas that are a few days of going green
Hmm, I like peanut butter
Hmm, I like cheese with peanut butter
Hmm, no bread
Microwave tortilla, add peanut butter, add cheese, wrap it up.
OMG WHAT HAVE I DISCOVERED THIS IS AMAZING...

Raining up our end as well. Haven seen the sun at all this week Great apart from the washing needing to go in the tumble dryer and the hot water booster needing to be on

We had the awesome thing of 40 yesterday... and then just enough rain yesterday afternoon to make everything damp and humid (humid for a southern state... not your stupid northern humidity)

And today has been 40 again, with another tomorrow.
And then 20 Sunday again...

Just caught another rat and killed it, little bastard was sneaking alone the back yard to the BBQ grease tray for a feed.. went out and used my hockey stick like a spear and stunned it long enough to catch and kill.

These things are impossible to get rid of, I have a bait station set up, a trap that I use occasionally, they're impossible to catch using traditional rat traps.. it's like a plague
