Well, it's close to that. It's an ageing 2 bedroom apartment at a time that apartment development in Canberra is skyrocketing. Still, it suits our needs and the maths works out over renting in the long term.
The ass will fall out of the apartment scene in a few years like it's going to in Brisbane, people start seeing $$'s and over development happens
I think it's already there for some segments of the apartments market here. Brisbane City Council has fucked up big time with over approving on developments.
....
So a few months back I thought the apartment rental market was going to tank in Canberra... was considering options - sell or keep... now or later

But apparently the increasing supply isn't quite "oversupply"

“Even though we’ve seen that building boom for units and apartments, we are still seeing that demand.”
While median unit rentals increased by 5 per cent over the past year, they were down 4.5 per cent over the past five years.
Dr Powell attributes this to a surge in supply, which is now tapering off.
“We did see real negative pressure on price from that unit and apartment stock,” Dr Powell says.
“New stock is now starting to ease and it’s why we’re seeing that price growth. I do think we’ll continue to see the rental market tighten.”

Thanks everyone.

The most important thing is now sorted. I have internet again! Supposedly up to 80Mbps. And I'm only an hour late for work because of it.

I'd take a whole week off for those speeds

Trying it out tonight, I got a peak of 5.7MBps on Steam. That's about three times what I was on before. Though I don't seem to be able to sustain those speeds.

I get ~800kb/s and I'm going to take a punt that your speeds don't get that low still.

Did my first Office 365 training today at work (first of about 5 training sessions). I'm impressed with some of the features that they've added since the 2010 version I've been using in the workplace for years now (obviously).

Steam is not the best indicator for overall speeds since stuff drops out all the time. There's a few files in http://mirror.internode.on.net/pub/test/ that are of known size if you don't care about wasting data.

Got unlimited data, so I can't waste data by definition.

My main worry is a reliable connection when streaming Netflix and Stan. There's new Twin Peaks and Better Call Saul to watch tonight, so that'll be the first real test of it.

My boss is notorious for getting parking fines, he always parks in the 2 hour timed zone outside our office, however today he went and moved his car around 20 meters down the road and parked there in order to not get fined.

Well he got fined anyway because although he moved his vehicle, he didn't "cross an intersection" Must still have been in the zone or something, no idea how that works in NSW.

I think the issue is that the parking inspector saw him move his car and then get out of it, then gave him a fine about 20 minutes later.

Got a job interview tomorrow afternoon. With 8 days left art my current workplace (who's counting?) it'll be nice to get something secured soon.

Though I'm partly hoping to have a bit of time off between gigs so I can settle into my new place and get stuck into Civ VI.

I have no idea what's going on with my iPhone lately, but this week I seem to not be able to get through a day without hitting 20-30% battery which is weird.

No I'm not doing anything different at all that I can think of, and I leave bluetooth on 24/7

Do you swipe your apps closed or leave them open in the background?

Interview didn't go as well as i hoped it would. It started with really specific technical questions about a technology I hadn't used for years. So I'm not sure how well I projected my competency. Guess I'll find out next week.
