im just gunna vent dont mind me.
i just did 12 solid hours.
last 2 weeks on 1st foor of a huge hall replacing windows. up small staircases with heavy things, creating scaffolding etc. went well but hard work.
so im 2 weeks behind being in an office and its end of financial year.

so i got all the final wages (and then group certs for staff and me) to do.

wage rise for staff and myself- so new financial year spreadsheets, new rates, giving everyone their payslip so they know what its at

speak to one of my lads re his shoulderany possible workcover claim. he is 20 odd years older than i and done some bad damage over the years and might need surgery.

finish my job book and then digitise and get the data from it to work out my end of month totals, and also my end of YEAR totals. need to do fancy graphs and see if it was an ok, crap or good year. put it all in cashflow manager to generate the accountant reports.

i need to work out my years turnover and compare that to my last years estimate i had given work cover. ill then know if i pay them or they pay me money. last time i was accurate within 30c which is beyond amazingly lucky. this time the year has been a roller coaster so im not sure. then i need to estimate THIS years gross turnover which FUCK knows as business in SA is so ...unpredictable atm.

ALSO

on saturday i managed to get a wide belt sander (1.3 tonnes of it all) on for $900 (new they are 25k)
got it on sat, cleaned it all out big time and couldnt get the power going.
got the hydraulics going without the power with some temp cabling.
called a sparky i know today and he got it GOING! a few wires replaced and im in business to the next step.
need a new sander pad/roll of the right size (my current one is dif sized). so need to call a company tomorrow and get something, or perhaps pick up a roll from a bloke i know who used to own a cabinet company (same sander model). then put that on and then test with a variety of timbers and maybe even a spare door or two and see how she goes. if i can get this thing working im gunna save a ton of cash when the last few years have been so tight.

not looking forward to elec bill and the rises SA are expecting of 30% up.

Was looking at a tv news article involving Trump and a guy in the corner of the shot looked like Joe Kucan (I.e Kane from Command and Conquer). Was a surreal moment.

Have left the bed twice since Monday, both times to go to the doctor.

Major sinusitis. Normally its gone by now in most. I can barely move.

Looking at my avatar, it reminds me I need to download my 10+ years of photobucket snaps and find another service. What a colossal fuck-up by them.

Shit, that sucks mate, hope you make a quick recovery. I'm on the mend after 5 days of the Flu and that's nothing compared to what you've been through.

I'm outraged on your behalf (didn't use them) - that's a VERY sucky way to do business

Wife is now in hospital in ICU (non-life threatening) on cardiac telemetry being monitored for her Supraventricular Tachycardia. She went to hospital due to severe pelvic pain rendering her unable to walk, sit or lay down. Current plan is just to dose her to the wazoo with codeine, physio to see if braces will help and essentially "Deal with it". :-/

Good luck to both you and the wife with the hospital treatments Artful.

And here I'm stressing about my knotted trap muscle stopping my head from turning right more than 30-40 degrees.

The fan bearings on my video card are toast, so today I drilled out the back of them (they were sealed) and filled them up with some lubricant. Youtube is awesome, I found a video on someone doing the procedure to my exact fans. So far so good. Out of warranty and about $22 to buy replacement fans, enough that I figured this was worth a shot first.

Pretty much got a job opportunity handed to me on a plate, and all I needed was a contracting firm as a middleman to make the application happen. Took a day of chasing up a firm to do this.

Here's hoping I get the job after all that!
