Modding my gel ball shooter

Doing doing some mods on my LVOA gel ball shooter ,painted the sight and added a PEQ15 laser prop ,not really sure if i'll leave it on the side rail or put it on the top one.
Future plans are a camo paint job ,a new stock as the one it comes with is under sized and a replacement torch holder 8-)

The projects got a little out of hand ,bought a tiadi M4A1 "toy" for the stock , (the tiadi's 1:1 in scale with the M4) ,unfortunately when I got it I found the stock wont fit ,(the LVOA's under scale :( ),without some major surgery!
I decided I may as well mod both of them so been getting parts and paint 8-) 1 problem I've found though is the LVOA's Picatinny rails are actually too small so need some filing for certain mods ,like the PEQ15 laser box, will fit.

LVOA Gel gun - got same magpul back up sights but can't fit the magpul rear sight so I'll either leave them off or use a foresight and paint the fake one at the back of the gun to match ,drilled out the holes on the supressor.

Image

M4 - added peq15 and magpul backup iron sights ,still need to get a replacement foregrip ,optic and supressor and remove the stock from the buffer tube and replace with a magpul type ,(the M4's 1:1 so things like stocks just drop straight in).

Looking pretty cool, any reason you haven't removed the orange tip??

Most likely for safety "people don't freak out" reasons. Although we don't have laws like the US requiring orange tips on imitation guns, it's the sensible thing to do.

In fact conventions like Supanova, Oz Comic-Con have rules requiring guns have safety markings. When I'm spray painting my P90 for this year's Supanova, I will have to actually add a coloured tip.

Slight diversion story here, but on the weekend my partner and I were at Oz Comic-Con and we were at a stall which was selling the gel ball shooters. Some dumb fuckwit “accidentally” fired a shooter on display and hit my partner in the face. He was no more than 3 metres away and had no fucking clue what he had done. Bloody lucky my partner wasn’t hit in the eye, those things have a decent velocity.

So yeah, people are stupid.

Unfortunately that is why so many fun things are illegal - mind you the operator of that stall has an obligation to ensure that no-one can do stupid shit with his gel ball shooters too and it sounds like he cocked that up.

Still blows my mind that I can own and use all manner of firearms and I'm trusted to be safe and obey the rules and regs, but I can't be trusted to own a toy gun that fires little plastic bb's.

Would be sorely tempted to hustle over and load a right straight into the dudes face.

Yeah if he had another accidental discharge I would've been close to clocking him, at the very least some abusive words. IMO the lady running the stall shouldn't have loaded guns on display. The area is fucking crowded, she's running around like an idiot serving people and a nasty accident is waiting to happen.

Sorry to hijack this thread, I'll be sure to post my painted p90 as well :)

@Disco I've left the tip on the M4 like @Ralph Wiggun said for safety so everyone knows its a fake ,(quick aside I've already had the cops here see the m4 and the LAVO gel gun after they rocked up at my home ,some idiot at my son's high school had told a group chat that the reason he wasn't at school was my son was going to go on a gun rampage - my son doesn't even go there anymore ,he's on an external FLO course , the female constable even knew what cosplay was when I showed them to her and told her what they were for :D  ) , the LAVO's got a red tip flash hider that swaps with the suppressor though I'm probably going to paint the suppressor or wrap hivis tape strip around the end!

@Ralph Wiggum the stall definitely shouldn't have had the toy loaded on display ,I would have reamed the idiot that hit your partner a new one - I'm real big on firearms safety ,even toy one's ,then again I'm ex army so kinda had it driven into my head

Gel guns are made of plastic, and contain a metal motor that projects the gel-soft pellet. I have a M249 SAW gel ball blaster that is an LMG with a mean look and mean performance. This product has a Gen 8 gearbox, a long trigger and a massive drum magazine.

Toy guns are toys which imitate real guns, but are designed for children to play with. From hand-carved wooden replicas to factory-produced pop guns and cap guns, toy guns come in all sizes, prices and materials such as wood, metal, plastic or any combination thereof. Many newer toy guns are brightly colored and oddly shaped to prevent them from being mistaken for real firearms.
