Had multiple problems with my PC this week and ended up doing a complete reset, with a fresh install, which means I've lost all of my installed games etc. So now I am going through and having a good think about exactly what I do want to bother reinstalling. Thank god for the 1000gb NBN quota which resets in 2 days and I still have 600gb left for the month.

Also have an 8" Windows 8.1 tablet on the way so I am interested to see what games I can mange to run on that, whether that is from my Steam library or from the Windows Store.

Really in the mood to get stuck into XCOM, so I have reinstalled that first, but I have Enemy Unknown on PC and Enemy Within on PS3 and I don't know which I should start with. Is Enemy Within basically the same campaign but with more content? I'll be playing either of them with the controller so which system I use doesn't bother me at all, so my main query is will I just be repeating a lot of the game if I do Enemy Unknown and then Enemy Within?

As far as I understand, they are the same campaign with extra content in Enemy Within.

I'm now looking at moving next weekend, which means that I will no longer have internet once I move. Well for the 10 days at least... which means no Elite dangerous or Rocket League. So I am trying to work out which of my games are offline capable now :(

Go straight to Enemy Within IMO. It's the same campaign with more content, like you asked. The only reason to play it on PC over PS3 would be to play the Long War mod, and you need EW for that anyway.

We'll have to have a game of Renegade Ops in co-op sometime!

Absolutely, mate. It looks like the perfect kind of co-op game for some laid back fun! There needs to be more co-op games like that on PC.

Speaking of co-op, I am working my way through Lord of the Rings: War in the North campaign at the moment, though I am not far into it yet. Whenever I play this I set my campaign open to multiplayer joins, so if anyone sees me playing and feels like some hack and slash goodness feel free to jump right in and join my game (add me if you have any interest in some of that action). I probably won't be playing it again for another day or two as I still have lots of stuff to sort out on my PC after the fresh OS install (like reinstalling the drivers for my PS3 controller) but I will be working my way through the campaign to finish it for the 26 game challenge thread. Also, being in WA means that often it is later at night (EST) when I am playing my games, and I play at fairly random times, but it will be open to joins any time I am playing it. :)

I wish I had War in the North on PC. I have it on PS3 and my bro and I never did end up finishing it. Quite an enjoyable game but some sections are a tad frustrating.

I got it the other week for less than $4 AUD on Kinguin. Steam was still asking $75 USD for it which seems insane for an older game

It definitely likes to shut you off in areas and then just throw wave after wave of enemies at you, which can get a little frustrating if the AI partners go down, but all up I am having a pretty good time with it :)

I need to get back into War in the North... got a bit into it and then stopped for something else...
Kinda similar to Tomb Raider and Deus Ex...

Hmm...

You've got me on Steam, if you ever see me playing it feel free to join in, it will be open to co-op connections.

I think it is pretty similar to Star Wars The Force Unleashed in many ways, and DarkSiders, but with co-op. Plenty of linear hack and slash with basic upgrade progression :)

A couple of double hp cards and a ap=hp card.

It is glorious when it lines up espicaly if you buff the card with something else like pw s or shattered sun cleric.

It just sucks when you use all those cards to buff it up and then someone drops silence

War in the north was a good game. Just a warning if you have an AMD gpu that one section in the campaign you'll crash out. You basically have to rush through it as fast as possible else you'll crash. I also had a mate who had a nvidia GPU and he made sure the mission was finished as fast as possible too. The developer never fixed that issue.

Forgot to cancel my partners wow sub when I cancelled mine last time we stopped playing, it auto renewed on Tuesday and she has no interest in playing again so I might as well play it, might make a class I've never really played much like priest or warlock. Or maybe I'll make a Druid which is my main and see whats changed since I leveled mine up in Vanilla WoW

You have to make sure you have a clear pass to the enemy hero before buffing!

You have an existing card that's active and buff the crap out of it your next turn, never let a priest keep anything alive beyond one turn because even a 4 mana card can really hurt you on the 5 mana turn.

I haven't played Hearthstone since the beta, maybe I should give it a whirl now, although it seems like the learning curve is a bit steeper now

I've played it on and off... the learning curve isn't so bad the power creep has become crazy though.

Having a basic deck now is abit like bringing a knife to a tank fight.

I played against a legend level player at rank 18 last night, starting a new season and all... He was taunting me with emotes the whole time and generally being an arrogant dick, ended up smashing him with a lethal round out of nowhere :D was fun

Loving my Anyfin Pally deck

Thank god for the squelch option. I hate it when people try that shit on.

I went to a MTG tournament once and the kid across from me just constantly said "Are you done yet?...are you done yet?....are you done yet?" I really wanted to punch him firmly in the face, but he was only about 8 and the son of the shop owner
