Show Us Your Latest Purchase - June 2018

Post by Mugsy » 01 Jun 2018, 22:41

Grabbed a can of this in preparation for getting my PC back tomoz so that I can give it a good clean. Though, a whirlpool thread mentioned that it's technically not compressed air but a liquid that evaporates quickly so I'm not sure I should be using it on my beloved PC. Maybe I should buy a $10 can of Besta compressed air from Umart when I'm there tomorrow.

EDIT: Mugsy you dumbarse... of course there's liquid coming out at first... it's compressed!

lol, but yes it's fine. I mean I wouldn't spray it while the PC was on, but I use cans of compressed air on mine

Nice purchase Mini. One of these days I'm gonna have to get myself a NAS too. Manual back ups are such a pain to do. And I wouldn't mind one which I can set up private cloud storage. Hopefully there's one out there with an accompanying Windows Phone app.

Yeah, I've been putting off building a NAS for a while now, though I'm going to just shove HDDs in my partner's old PC and install Linux or something.

After much uming and ahring between jumping onto the Olympus bandwagon or sticking with my Nikon 1 system, I've decided to get the last of this Nikon 1 V2 stock for $360 (as opposed to $1150 if I jumped to Olympus). Main reasoning is that I've got existing lenses from my V1 that would be a lot more enjoyable to use with the better manual controls of the V2 and at $360 it's not going to break the bank. And just as well, my lenses are all white (to match my V1's body) so it should match the V2 quite well.

Image

And if I don't enjoy using it, then I'll sell it all on Gumtree and get myself that Olympus OMD E-M10.

I seem to be buying more this month...

GPS attachment for the camera above.

This normally retails for about $229 give or take... was slashed by 80% for clearance (discontinued stock) with a further 20% off from ebay and free shipping via ebay store too. Now I can tag all the photos I take so I know where they're taken on Goggle Earth!

Image

The old camera I used for my work field trips had location tagging too so it'll be nice to have that feature back on the new camera.

Gah, it's so tempting. Hope it's great!

I shouted myself some Chinese food for dinner. E3 was hard and it is very cold. There is no picture because it is gone. :)

This was on sale too for a good price...

Now to get a good lens for it.

Good thing I use these cameras when going on work field trips and can claim it back on tax.

What does it actually do? It looks like it only has echinacea, vitamin c, zinc, olive leaf and andrographis so pretty much just a normal vitamin/herb tablet. Unless I'm looking at the wrong one?

Only one I haven't seen before if andrographis, but apparently that only might work if you take it with ginseng.

What ever combo and potency of the stuff they've put in it, it boosts my immune system heaps. I usually take some if I'm feeling like I'm about to come down with something. Over the past decade, I've literally only gotten the flu about 3 times. Before that, I use to get it at least twice a year. And I don't get flu shots these days as that just gives me the flu.

10yrs ago, I was getting the flu every month for 8 months for some reason. My naturopath put me onto a cocktail of supplements which a) helped me get better, and b) put me in a state where I've been able to ward off the flu most years with a little bit of help from Armaforce.

Recently, mum got viral conjunctivitis. Optometrist said that it was up to her immune system to fix up her blurry vision. I got mum to start taking Armaforce and within a week, her vision was much better whilst the 1 week beforehand where she wasn't taking anything buy eyedrops did hardly anything.

It may not work as well for everyone but it does for me (and Disco too so it seems).
