Also getting a new monitor.. have had a 31" widescreen for a while now but the aspect ratio gets all screwy with some games.
How much was it?
I actually ended up not getting it, was supposed to pick it up on Saturday.. but through a guy I know at JB Hi Fi it was going to be $320

Steam Mop from Kmart. Apparently rated as 3rd best on Choice, which is good because it was only $45 compared to the $220 cost of the best rated one...

New lounge suite... 5 x powered recliners, all seats have a USB port with the exception of the centre seat on the 3 seater which will be handy for charging things.

Can you upgrade those USB ports to the next standard as they become available?

I always forget to charge my Surface Pro 3 so whenever the grand parents to skype its a big stuff around, this way we can just do it at my PC and I've got a decent enough webcam if I ever get good enough internet to stream!

When USB4.0 comes out, Disco will just let Cherry get a new set of couches so he can then go buy another expensive item ;)

I would think the ports are for charging more than data. Although having a controller hooked up to the lounge would be cool

It's not a data port, just power. Unless the voltage/amp requirements change radically it won't matter.

It's not about whether it is for charging or for data... adding USB ports to a lounge is a way to date it.

I can see a future version of Antique Roadshow - and here we have a lounge from The Tensies (2010-2019) ... it even has old style electronic device charging via USB, how quaint. This was well before we had whole room charging and they even had to use cords to charge their devices!!! Image

As if anything bought from Harvey Norman will last long enough to end up on Antique Roadshow

First, the ports are just for charging...

Second, when we selected the lounge, we didn't realise it had them - wasn't why we chose it - so if they stop working or are no longer current, it won't prevent the lounge from providing it's core function of being a chair to sit on.

Third, this is our sixth lounge in eight years, so I'll give you a fucking prize if those USB ports are no longer useful by the time we upgrade again.

Finally, we have been meaning to get a rug since we changed from carpets to hard floors. Husband says house is devoid of colour, so, colour it is... ordered this, but much, much larger. I think the colours will look neat against a black lounge.

I don't like it ^

You guys have such a great middle tone woodgrain and dark highlights thing going on, needs something black and white IMO, or darker chocolate style.

Also lol @ Disco calling for more colour, the other day he called me a fagela because my sock game is more colourful than his 2 pairs of black or white socks.

Wow!

Can't say I know that feeling... I'm still on the same IKEA modular lounge that I've had for over a decade now. It's beige and goes with just about any room colour scheme I've had, can be rearranged to suite the room layout, and has washable covers. Granted, one of the covers' zippers is going (and has been for 4yrs) and there's no replacement covers anymore so I'll likely need to get a new lounge soon enough.

Oh, I don't mind the rug... assuming there's a bit of colour in the furniture around the room so the rug doesn't stand out excessively. Or did I just give you two a reason to get more furniture?

Your "sock game", hahaha.

I like the rug, everything else in our house is brown or creme, it will be nice to get some colour in there.

Also, so many fucking negative nancies here

We've just had terrible luck with lounges - our first was a corner lounge that was third hand (my uncles, then my mum's, then ours) and we decided to upgrade to 2 x 2 seaters that a friend was selling. They weren't super comfortable though, so when I saw some more comfortable lounges being sold near-new from another friend, I bought those. We would have kept them longer, but we went on holiday and the cat pissed all over them in our absence. So we bought a lounge that wasn't super expensive from Harvey Norman and it was nice, covers washable, but the frame broke and given how inexpensive it was I couldn't be arsed to go through the drama of warranty so we snapped up our current leather suite from Gumtree and we'd be keeping it but Disco's recliner broke shortly after us buying it and it's been held together with a very fetching yellow ratchet strap for 18 months+.

So alas, this lounge will be our sixth - and I went with electric recliners because most research seemed to point to the fact that it's people being rough when letting the recliner up or pushing it down that seems to break the mechanism. That, and we're working towards a family, so being able to gently lower a recliner with a button when getting up with a sleeping child is better than trying to violently shove it down with my too-short legs.

Thank you. Thankfully our furniture is timber so it goes with anything.

I originally had a tribal rug that was cream with grey tribal patterns selected, but I think it will get too dirty. We are switching our dining chairs from brown to black to tie in with the lounge/rug. I'm not great with colour, so I'm just trying something new. If it's shit, we'll just sell it and buy something else.

It's actually a simplicity thing - when all of your socks are the same brand/style in two colours (black/white) the sock-matching game on laundry day literally takes no time at all... and if you loose a sock or get a hole, it doesn't render the other sock useless as you just keep it until another pair loses it's friend or gets a hole.

Not gonna post pics but I've bought an assortment of Cold and flu tablets, Vicks vapo drops and armaforce in the past week. Still getting over this cold. Worse one I have had in the past 5-6yrs.
