Show Us Your Latest Purchase - September 2018

Post by Mugsy » 01 Sep 2018, 18:42

No image unfortunately. My Kogan mobile service ends later this month and Kogan now don't allow discounted recharge coupons to be used by existing customers. You need to be off Kogan mobile completely for 30 days to be considered a new customer so I'm migrating to Catch Connect using a $15 for 90 days plan.

Even better, I used a referral link to sign up to Cash Rewards (for $10 for me and the referrer) and then the Cash Rewards link below for a further $5 cashback making the thing free:

https://www.cashrewards.com.au/coupons/ ... -te-272369

Then I sent my referral link (http://fbuy.me/j8PlI) to my bro seeing how he needs to get such a plan for when his girlfriend comes to visit between late Oct to end of Nov so I'll actually make money on this purchase! How often does that happen?

But yeah, if Catch Connect ain't too crap to use, I think I'll be migrating between Kogan and Catch Connect to get around this new customer bullshit in order to get a discounted mobile service recharge.

Also I'm trialing a brand other than GW, hopefully these are decent, as they are a bit cheaper...

Wanted a new phone, and for mid tier the Nokia 8 seemed fairly decent, so grabbed one. Now to wait for it to be delivered...

Nice, keep hearing good things about the newer Nokia's. Should be a good phone.

Looks to be a common purchase today. I'm sorting out my own specialist appointments as I type this.

Picked this up 75%-off on the current Paradox Publisher's Steam Sale. Haven't played the original but have read a lot of great reviews of Dragonfall: DC. Cost <$5 so I though I'd give it a go.

Yeaaaah, I started doing BJJ and managed to give myself a bit of a groin strain getting out of the mother trucking bath of all things.

Will probably book in to see a physio on Monday if its not sorting itself out, it's killing me not going to class.

Attempted to pre-order the iPhone Xs through Telstra's pre-order system on Friday. I'd get all the way through and once I hit submit it would tell me there was a problem and to please visit a Telstra store. I raged out on their FB page as my account is $200 in credit, I am out of contract so there should be no 'issue' with my order. Some guy commented and said "Order from your phone on 4G instead of from a computer or on a wifi network and that should work", tried that, and bam order went through.

Just got a call from Telstra "Hello Ma'am, we think you may have had some trouble with the pre-ordering system? We have an order here for 7 new iPhones on your account" --- jesus, thank goodness they noticed! 6 iPhones cancelled, 1 iPhone coming my way.

Home contents... surprisingly, the price they gave me, despite a $20 increase, was still cheaper than all the alternatives I looked up.

EDIT: The logo is bigger than what it is on the website. It's the same image used in the top left corner...

I also lodged at the Tribunal. I'll be taking MWave to court. Matter of principal, if they don't want to honour consumer rights, I will fight to the end.
The hearing date is set, documents are ready. Bring it on.

I love my large mousepads both at work and home, everything sits nicer, and seem to look neater somehow.

Sent in a faulty product, they claim "consumer damaged".
So Fair Trading, that failed, now tribunal. They seem the think the cord was bent and that damaged the USB port on the microphone.
I have pictures showing the cord is clearly not bent. Also, many, many others have similar issues - most exactly the same issues...
I won't stand for anyone's consumer rights (repair, replace, or refund) being violated. Considering they didn't even consider sending it back, it makes me even more steadfast in taking them to court.

Still waiting for that to appear on the eShop for preorder. Not sure what's taking Nintendo so long on that front.
