::Revisiting:: Suggestions

Post by Sapphire » 08 Apr 2017, 14:35

A while back I asked if it was possible to have a crafters smock/apron that would allow mage class and monks to use the martial weapon feat needed in crafting such as pick axe for mining and woodcutters axe... But making it totally impractable for any kind of melee with a heavy AC penalty and/or vulnerabilitiees to physical damage...

It is a pain to have to take or in my opinion waste a feat on taking martial weapon feat for no other reason than you want or need to say go mine some ore or chop a tree...

I think that one will require a hak update to do.

Don't think so all it really requires is to be designed in the editor for items and then added to the scrapper merchant's inventory... I mean there are such things as the skinning knife that has a damage penalty on it without any specific hak needed... I can if you like design such and send you a copy of that via e-mail for you to approve or otherwise or even edit to your likes ...

I'll add that for a non martial character with lowish STR, power attack would be very useful on an item when it comes to mining.

Would suggest not as mages more than likely have spells to compensate (ie Bulls STR and flame/darkfire weapon) the latter importantly will do damage regardless of physical damage based on STR ...

Is it possible to make it so that instead of having to click on a deposit of clay or mineral a million times that you can just click on it once and it gathers them until you tell your character to stop?

That would take a lot of the tedium out of that aspect of crafting. Same with mining for ingots. Would something like this be considered for the next update? I would love you long time.

Not sure.
Don't really want to make it possible for people to go afk while collecting materials.

I'm pretty sure people would be responsible enough to use it wisely. If not; there is always the banhammer.

Or, you could build in something similar to "that's the end of that" after a few minutes, to make sure if someone does go afk then it doesn't kill the server.

I'd like to see a shift-click to put all my items of a single type into the open container, mine craft like. I don't mind clicking for mining, but hate dragging all the items from my inventory into <choose your container of choice>

I'm not sure how much work it would be, but this could be a solution. Could we craft from our inventory instead of a table? It would need another step in selecting how many of something you want to craft to avoid using everything in your inventory in one go. The individual tables would still be needed to trigger the conversations for crafting.

This would also keep the workshop cleaner and reduce lag, right?

This would greatly increase lag actually.
Getting the server to read and index every item in a crafters inventory is a much bigger job than just checking the player selected items from the crafting station.

Oh... I would have thought it would be the same as using one of the recipe cards.

Can I suggest a new Epic feat for the Shifter class?

Epic Shape: Dragonkin
Requirements - Dragon Shape, 10 levels in Shifter
Able to be taken as Shifter bonus feat

This shape would mirror the Dragon Shape feat in all respects, except it would shift you into a Dragonkin skin rather than a full dragon. This would be great so that a Dragon Shifter is actually able to navigate in enclosed spaces MUCH easier. It would also give a slight buff with the change in size, although a reduction in KD effectiveness.

Please make it so! :o

You can make feat suggestions.
Its just that there won't be any feats added for a while as its a lot of work.

So we had an update on the crafting and some changes to area's ... Right in the middle of me putting like 60 titanium nuggets in a forge !! Hence I lost the lot ... Could I ask whomever does these updates to first check on whether there is anybody on the server at the time of the reboot/refresh to impliment these updates... And a final piece of this rant ... Where is the blacksmiths apron I mentioned at the head of this thread ?

Hmm... slampt usually waits until the server is empty before throwing on the update... unless the server crashed by itself... or he decided to be an evil overlord... I did say that he could be :P

Not a server crash... I came back after a few minutes later to find that crafting mines and garden had changed and my character logged in at the swords too not where she was ...

Also just in case it gets buried ... Blacksmith's Apron ??

I think you just have to bite the bullet like a lot of other crafters and take the feat. My Monk/Sorc/RDD had to...
