Seeing as this is the Question for the Sub Forum maybe we should Poll this up?

Lets see where your allegiance lie.

I generally prefer first person for shooting. It is nice to have the option for third person for any melee.

I picked both. My current games are Uncharted 4 and Arkham Knight. But I'm waiting for the next FPS to blow me away.

I have to admit that I am getting more into the 3rd person games at the moment, Assassin's Creed and Uncharted series are some of the best 3rd person games I have played. DOTA2 I guess if you count it as 3rd person.

But I am starting to think thats its better to see the character in the world you are exploring which "IMO" gives you a deeper involvement with the story, characters and setting.

It depends on the way the game is designed I reckon, possibly also the pedigree... ie: anything Doom is FP or Bust :)

I got nothing for ya... I was raised to not do things I wouldn't want done to myself. And that's why anal sex is off the agenda.

Depends... I enjoy FPS on PC and TPS on Consoles. However there are some FPS games on Console I don't mind and vice versa.

I'm just going to vote Both.

Both, really depends on the game and the controls you intend to play with though.

Using a controller? Third person.

Mouse and keyboard? Primarily first person, unless the following (in which case I prefer third person):
  • Melee/Sword combat
  • Cover based combat (nothing quite like staring at a wall)
  • Magic based combat (where you have things like minions, think Hellgate: london summoner class)
  • Tactical/turn based combat
  • MMO or other mass pvp game, hazzah situational awareness can be nice which isn't to say large scale pvp *has* to be third person, I enjoy planetside as it is for instance.
  • Any game that spends far too much time on the artwork for armour and you spend stupid hours acquiring it, ie third person for the pretties :P
Which leads me to also comment on how much I hate controllers for FPS. UGH.
