Darn, I was afraid that was the case. Guess we'll just live without Instagib for now if it messes things up for the other modes. Pity there's no way to add mutators in the map vote settings but we can always add other modes like Assault down the track if we exhaust the DM, TDM and CTF experience. Agree. Whilst UTComp is only a very small download in game, it can be overwhelming once that enhanced HUD loads up.Mearehear wrote:I'll look into UTComp, but ultimately I think it isn't really needed and my goal is to keep this as simple and vanilla as possible. Slimming down to a "Best Picks" also a good idea... guess we'll need at least a month or two of solid play before we get an idea of which maps the group likes/hates.
RE custom maps, I won't be touching my dropbox link with all the classic remake of UT99 maps anytime soon (I use OneDrive for my cloud storage) so anyone who feels like testing some out, go for it.
Personal favourites of mine from that folder:
- DM-Fractal (yeah, I like my circular arena maps)
- DM-TheLongestYard (I like space maps too)
- DM-SpaceNoxx (It's a circular arena, space map so gets double thumbs up )
