Halo Collection coming to PC/Steam

This is great news for me. The remastered versions of Halo 1 and 2, Halo 3, ODST, 4 and Reach are all coming to PC including Steam:

It's the Steam part that has me pumped. With some luck, the games will run on Win7.

I didn't get Halo 1 on PC due to lack of co-op support. Halo 2 was skipped due to the fact I was still on XP and I think Vista was the minimum OS requirement. And the others never made it to PC. I doubt we'll get co-op support (though that would seal the deal for me)... but it'll be nice to play these games finally.

Gears of War 2 and onwards would be even better though. I enjoyed GOW1 on PC... would love to play through the rest.

Why on earth are you still using Windows 7?

I don't like using Windows 10. I have it on my tablet/netbook as Win10 has a better touch screen interface but on my desktop I prefer Win7. On my gaming laptop, Win10 doesn't run Diablo 3 which, considering it's my most played game, made the upgrade futile.

In principle it does. But my gaming laptop is archaic and I couldn't find a graphics driver that worked with Win10 and ran D3. All other games I tried worked but D3 showed a black screen with sound. Not even the previous Win7 compatible driver worked. In the end it was just easier to stick to Win7 than to dick around with Win10, drivers and D3 on that laptop.

Yeah, you could say that. Keeping my savings for a new desktop first.

EDIT: Actually, I doubt I'll be buying a laptop going forward. If I get a new desktop, it should be more than powerful enough to run multiple instances of Diablo 3 (when i get those damn cosmic wings, it'll be on both my accounts at the same time!). My laptop is only a back up for when my desktop is at the PC shop getting fixed so not really worth replacing if all want to do is check emails and play a little D3 with it once every 1-2yrs. And when the gaming laptop dies, I have my 13" laptop I use when traveling for work to use for emails. I might have a mobile that'll run Diablo Immortal by then too :-P
