Just Cause 3

Post by NotThatDoug » 17 Nov 2015, 12:41

I'm really starting to get hyped for this game. Will make a nice change of pace from Fallout 4 to throw on a fun mindless game where I fly around in a wing suit and blow stuff up just cause its there, The wing suit looks like it will make traveling around the map a lot easier than the old parachute/grapple method.

The voice acting and story seems as cheesy as ever but I think that's just part of the charm of it now. Like an action film that's so bad it's actually good.

They won't have multiplayer at launch which is a bit of a shame and they've only been hinting it might be something they do in the future with some rumors being fueld by the fact that Squares new cloud based gaming platform is sharing office space with the Just Cause guys. I think it would be fun to get a bunch of people together to all mess around, kinda like GTA online with grappling hooks, but I can see it getting very stale very quickly if they don't add some other elements.

I'm keen as mustard for this, and went to the pax aus panel for it and was laughing pretty hard at some of the stuff they did

Man this is going to be awesome :D The story seems a bit more serious than the past ones, still cheesy. The developers know their fans just want a fun open world game though with lots of action, so i believe they'll deliver a great game.

I just hope my pc can run it in all its glory, more so my grahpic cards, i really need to upgrade my sli 770's :(

Yeah they kinda fell backwards into a hit game with JC 2, I never saw any marketing for it before release and then it was getting some goodish reviews and I was like eh maybe I'll get it for my 360 eventually, then people were just like you've got to get this game, here a video of me grapple hooking a guy to a gas bottle and blasting him into the sky and heres all these crazy montages of the other stuff I've done in game.

Good to see from the stuff they've shown they realized what made the game so appealing and have dialed up that stuff.

Yeah just cause 2 was a suprise hit lol It was just a fun game, and that's what gaming is all about. I think a lot of publishers/developers forget that at times these days.

They definitely look they stepped all the good stuff up for just cause 3 though. So many games out...i still need to start mgs v. Fallout 4, is insanely huge! Now just cause 3 :O I think i'll have to put battlefront on my to do list next year haha

I'm the same for Battlefront, its looking good but I wanna leave it and see if the community sticks around for it, haven't even considered MGS V. The good thing about Just Cause 3 is it should fit the roll nicely of a pick up and play whenever game, not like other games in my pile of shame like Witcher or Dragon Age where I go back to it after not playing it for a few weeks/months and am completely lost on where I am, what I was doing, what build I was doing for my character.

Oh look! There's a me!

We're actually running our interview with Roland in this week's episode of Player Attack (on air Friday, online over the weekend). It's definitely a game that's going to make a lot of people happy.

I don't think there is any, which is either a good thing or a bad thing depending on your perspective. Some parts of PAX are things you just had to be there for ;)

Awesome I've got those spec covered.

Was a great segment on it on Player Attack.

6 grapples at once is going to be a lot of fun and that wing suit just always looks so awesome. I'm especially glad to hear they worked on the cars to make them more fun because the cars in JC2 had terrible handling, it was like trying to steer a cow.

WHICH YOU CAN DO IN JUST CAUSE 3

Agreed!

The only downside with this is I will either have to buy it twice (PC+console), or get it on console (to please my son)

Haha yeah the panel was great. If I could I would have stayed in the demo booth for hours playing it, it's so much fun.

It's a sad day when my i7-3770k is now the recommended as it reminds me that some day soon, it'll be minimum and I'll be required to upgrade :( Oh how those 3 or so years of having it have flown. 7970 and 8GB RAM is not going to cut it very soon either.

Nice my pc should be able to handle this pretty maxed out. My sli 770's might hold me back a bit, but i'm well above the other recommended specs :)

Makena tweeted about this earlier which made me realise it's a lot sooner than I had thought. Preordered, preloading, hoping it'll get done in time! Can't wait to grapple random things together for no good reason. :D

Very thankful for unmetered Steam content, we just rolled over and moved to a smaller plan!

Gotta love when your current GPU is the minimum required. At least I have SLI.
