ZiggyD did a vid that overviewed the new league and xpac. Looks pretty cool. Not sure how much time I have to gear up a new character though.

The Abyss encounters sound interesting, though perhaps a little bit DPS check based.
Getting Jewels with even more niche properties on them does not sound good though. The existing ones are already barely usable.

Full details of the Abyss League challenges and rewards are up: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2035580
There's 40 challenges in total but you only need to do 36 to unlock all three cosmetic thingies. Seems like you would have to play a LOT, but the portal effect looks quite creepycool. :)

Hmmm, I wonder if it's time to give PoE another try?

I've already Guardianed both my D3 accounts this season.

I've redownloaded it and will probably try it a bit. Don't know as what class, which is a problem. Not planning on piling a heap of time into it, will see how soon I get sick of it this time. Curious to see what's changed and been added since whenever I last played, but not touching it before the league kicks off so I'm not burned out in advance. :D

Played a bit. The abyss things are pretty crazy, so many enemies crawl out of them and the rewards are quite good too.

Not having fun though. :(

If you haven't played all the new Acts yet, it might be worth sticking with it to play them. Their story is interesting.

If anyone in the guild jumps in and sees a bunch of new players, I've added some people from my D3 clan who are interested in playing the new league that starts in a few weeks time.

I gotta admit, GGG have taken the concept of the endless dungeon for ARPGs to a whole new level...

Looks interesting, but I'm expecting to discover its another tediously long grind or extended endgame only content.

Nekosan and I enjoyed playing several hours of PoE, I didn't end up liking my character much though, should revisit with a dude who just hits things with a hammer for simplicity sake.

I enjoyed this when we had a group of us playing. Might be something I can re-download and get a few more hours out of...
And completely ignore all guides on the tech tree and just go randomly :D

That's what we did, but we kept getting our asses handed to us in the incursions, no idea what to do with them at all.

Those are the best classes! I love playing Barbarian in Diablo 3... just charge into groups and smash stuff.

You'd probably want to play a Marauder with the molten balls skills. Great fun.

Yeah, the story is now 10 Acts so it would be good for a bunch of us to group up and play through the extended campaign at the very least. We got that guild stash to share stuff too.

The Azerite mine, eh? Been collecting a lot of Azerite in World of Warcraft today... :D

That dungeon crawling thing looks heaps good. I would definitely die to the darkness a lot.
Wish I'd find out about PoE expansions on the day they're available though, so I could download it and play, instead of waiting two weeks and not bothering or forgetting. >_>

My last character was a Ground Slam Marauder, was fun slamming everything.
Unfortunately the skill gems are totally not balanced and Sunder does more damage and at longer range. But I didn't want to be a ranged character, so I went back to Ground Slam when I got the Jewel for it. (The jewel catches the damage up a bit and increases the angle of the aoe).
Earthquake was just crap and disappointing. I had wanted to use it as a "I'm surrounded" skill, but the damage is too slow to make it worth using.

I might try a chaos damage witch next.
