...you guessed it. Any posts that don't fit in the other categories - or any discussions about gaming hardware (including Steam Machines!) - should go in here.

GOG Connect

Post by Alkarl » 02 Jun 2016, 08:01

Just making sure everyone knows :P

GOG can now connect to your Steam account and give you access to select Steam games on GOG... if that makes sense...

Anyway, check it out. :D

Cool, I'll try it out.

Annnd it says it's going to take several days because of high demand. I guess I must not be the only one

Nice try, still not going to use that bloated ass client.

I'm running almost every game client right now and it's using less than nearly all the others.

Steam or does GOG have a client I don't know about?

It's called GOG Galaxy, and you don't need it to play/download/acquire/whatever the games :D

I'm only running Steam and Battle.net at the moment, I had a cleanup last month :P

I uninstalled mine about 5 months ago because my computer was hanging strangely on startup and that client was the result. Tried to fix it multiple times but it always ends up running 10+ processes in the background when it's not doing anything. I'm not interested in another client that exists solely to advertise at me, especially if it does things it shouldnt.

That's how the Chromium framework works. Steam, Origin, Battle.net, Uplay all do the exact same thing. Except it's not 10, there are 3.
The program is still in beta. I suppose since it isn't needed for anything it doesn't really matter, if you're not using GOG then there's no reason to have it installed.
