This is how we died.

So, new server! Who is up for some of this? Would be great if we can get a few people working together.

I've not played a lot of PZ yet, so don't know much about crafting stuff etc, but I've got the basics all worked out and spent time dieing for a few hours in game. So much more appealing to be playing it on a server rather than single player.

I'd be game, I originally played it way back before it was on Steam and haven't tried it since so I bet a lot has changed.

I don't own it but sounds like fun. Will have to see if I can get a cheap steam key for it somewhere

I should be able to transfer my original account onto Steam somehow, I'll look into it and see what I come back with, the last time I played was when you spawned with your dying wife, and I accidentally suffocated her once

I didn't even know you once spawned in with your dying wife! I've only picked this up in the last 6 months though. It's pretty amazing how much detail is in the survival for it though and graphics aside it is pretty impressive. Will be interesting to give the persistent world thing a go on a server.

@kharis I don't know how many big sale sit has had, so not sure how cheap it can be found. Kinguin has it for around $12 aud which isn't too bad I guess.

Hmm, I might have to look into this, looks interesting.
And happy to try stuff that is on my ISP's servers...

There is a demo of it on Steam, if you want to try it out, but just be aware that the demo is a very outdated build and the game has improved quite a bit since then (though it is always pretty much going to look the way it looks) http://store.steampowered.com/app/108600/

Had a quick run on the server last night. Died twice really quickly as I kept getting 5 frames per second and couldn't work out what was going on. Ends up you shouldn't run Razer Cortex's (Game Booster) automatic boost with this game. Turned that off and everything was running nice and smooth again.

Sooo many zombies on there at the moment. I was on the run until I got lost in a forest in the middle of the night. Exited there for now and hopefully it will be daylight when I rejoin. This game certainly makes surviving an intense task!

Well, I might get screwed here, as per their original options I purchased it via an indie game hosting site called Desura, which doesn't exist anymore and the advice on the PR website is to go to Desura and get your Steam key.

I've messaged them, so will see what they come back with.

Shame about your ping last night, but I had a similar problem when I gave it a quick run today. 600 ping the whole time. I have a feeling there is some shenanigans going on with players though. Last night there was that guy who wasn't even affected by a horde of zombies attacking him, or me shooting him, and another who followed him intentionally dying in the horde and now today all the zombies are dead everywhere. Hundreds of them. I think there might be a bit of hacking/griefing going there so far and I don't know if maybe that is affecting server performance. I might have a read of their forums and see if any of that is happening regularly.

EDIT: Also, would be good to know what the server settings are, such as whether PVP is enabled or not.

And this is why I suggested in the other thread that server info be somewhere in the (individual) forum for the game's that have servers. :P

Yeah I am planning to add a thread here with server settings and tips for survival once things are running properly, so I would likely add the server details at the start.

Need to play the ones I have anyway... along with all the free co-op games going around...

I think it's worth the $20, a lot has changed since I first got into it - like DayZ it can be frustrating but it's damn good fun and the more people we get into the server the better
