Nostalgia: PC Games you miss
Re: Nostalgia: PC Games you miss
Oh wow, Commandos was awesome...
I remember playing the original years ago, so hard getting through some of those levels, especially when you forgot the guy you needed somewhere near the start

Commandos 2! Used to watch my brother play it, picked it up in a steam sale and thoroughly enjoyed it.

So, right now I'm working on writing about the first Fallout, that I never played. What other retro stuff would you guys like to see reviewed?

Superman, Tabletop, Video and Pro Wrestling.

So much to chose from, and depending on how "retro" you want to go. Unreal Tournament, though not what I would call retro, would be good to review from a 2015 perspective, seeing it as one of the big starting places for online PvP FPS. Looking back at what it was, comparing it where it is at now with the new community driven development version in progress, and generally where the genre is at today.Jimmy_The_Geek wrote:What other retro stuff would you guys like to see reviewed?
But the options are too endless to ask for suggestions.

Curse of Monkey Island, the 3rd Monkey Island game, probably my favourite adventure game. Wish GoG would release it.
Fallout 2, it took me 6 years to finish, between hard drive crashes, corrupted save files, moving across the country, I love it more than any other game and will never ever play it again.
Starcraft 1/the original Unreal Tournament/Quake 3. so many late night LAN parties with all my mates.

And this is why I always lent out copies of my game discs... thank you Alcohol 120%.Vital-Blurs wrote:Freelancer.....I let a mate borrow my copy years ago and never saw it again. Luckily Elite:Dangerous fills that void now.....mostly.
Loved Freelancer. Campaign rocked but multiplayer was brilliant despite the end game being relatively unfinished. Loved traveling the galaxy with my bro... the controls were also genius... pity more PC games don't make used of this steer by mouse cursor control system. SW Battlefront's flight system would be so much better with this.

Game I spent way too much time on when I was younger was Wing Commander Privateer. Have tried a few remakes and similar games, but nothing seems to have been as good since.

Re: Nostalgia: PC Games you miss
Freelancer, Half Life, Giants, Jedi Knight and Dungeon Keeper
Jedi Knight 2 had the best multiplayer.
I'd have added Zoombini's to the list - but I've got that on android recently haha.
My primary school years were lost in Zoombini's haha
(EDIT: looks like I already posted this prior haha)
Other ones I didn't mention;
Counter Strike 1.6
Day of Defeat (classic)
TF2
Diablo
Star Craft

Re: Nostalgia: PC Games you miss
Thinking through the games I've played over the years...
X-Wing Alliance
Jedi Knight / The Old Republic (as a whole)
Syphon Filter
Tony Hawk
Close Combat
That's pretty much it off the top of my head

I remember visiting our family friends (they had an Atari) and always asking to play Grand Pricks (I meant Grand Prix).
