Re: DM Assistance - Help!!
Am hopeful the teething issues are settled with acquiring a shop/store and if so I would like to acquire one fairly soon as am getting my character loaded with crafting stuff and would like to be able to offer it up for sale ... Thanks to Kitty for trying on Saturday BTW...

Done.
I've also unlocked half the shops, so people can setup when they are ready.

I think Andre already unlocked all the stores, so you just need to be a merchant, have the gold to open a store then talk to a store that currently isn't ownedRadhaz wrote:Hello
What do I need to get a store?

Re: DM Assistance - Help!!
50k required to open up or set up the store ...
Do we know how much the rent will be as yet, or is it still going to be paid by a DM ?
Also I thought I recall that the rent aspect was going to be removed, if this is still the case when is this likely to happen ?

Re: DM Assistance - Help!!
Apologies but I still think that is somewhat expensive especially at the moment where by it is not easy to gather a lot of gold ... Still also think the scrappers not giving much for crafted goods or other stuff... I mean giving like 72 gold for a stack of 10 potions then if you try buying it from them they ask like 1600+ ... Personally think this ratio is still very restrictive would like to see a return for 10 crafted potions @ say 275 gold ...

Re: DM Assistance - Help!!
Perhaps also could the scrappers be made to vary price on an appraisal/persuade skill basis ?

Re: DM Assistance - Help!!
Nope sorry they are not ... Like I said but i'll be more specific, 10 pots of clarity a scrapper only gives me 64 gold and there is no indication at all that appraisal skill points or otherwise have any effect.

They do do that.
You get a haggle check when you talk to each scrapper.

Re: DM Assistance - Help!!
How high are you appraise and/or persuade scores? I'm not sure of exact values but I know for sure that the scrapper only gives a message pertaining to pricing when the check has been successful. (As opposed to standard NWN system for appraise which gives merchant's reaction as favourable, unfavourable, or neutral)Sapphire wrote:Nope sorry they are not ... Re: DM Assistance - Help!!
Appraise skill for Shannon is at 6 points and I would expect even with 1 point to see a message saying along the lines of "xscrapper gives you a unfavourable reaction" All I get is "xscrapper recognises you" Persuade is at 4 BTW ...
If as suggested above this is not using the NWN system (favourable, neutral,Unfavourable) then I would say this is broken or not working properly, as I have tried with my other character Ryannia whom has no skill points in either appraisal or persuade and gets the same price for the same goods and the same message "xscrapper recognises you"...

Re: DM Assistance - Help!!
Already done that and made sure it would be cheaper to buy them at my shop than it would be from any scrapper, "ADVERT ALERT" Check out store #3 and my post on the notice board.Fraggermuffin wrote:Put them in your shop and hope some bedraggled adventurer picks them up

Re: DM Assistance - Help!!
The scrap rate is like 6%. You aren't going to get a 17% increase with just 6 points.

Re: DM Assistance - Help!!
Okay then might I suggest a more graduated system that increases the base rate (6%) by say 1% per 5 points of appraise and 1% per 8 points of persuade ... This would encourage players to buy into these skill points ... These are just an example not a fixed suggestion, but given this example by level 40 it will only give like an extra 13% above the base scrapper rate...

Re: DM Assistance - Help!!
I can't graduate it any more. The minimum adjustment is a whole 1% of the item value, so a 16% increase in what you get.

Re: DM Assistance - Help!!
The appraise skill starts paying big dividends as one gets into epic levels (20+) - it's worth it, just takes a while to pay off.
