This looks like something I would want to play... of course, it might be better if I actually played Far Cry 4 first... :dodgy:

Played for 2 hours or so last night in coop (can coop as soon as you finish the first tiny island), it's pretty fun, shame only the host gets the story progression, but at least both players keep their full player progression

It's pretty fun, accidentally started a forest fire and set myself on fire 10/10 would use flame thrower again

ITS NOT MY FAULT!

I'm also broke, picking up $4 here and there off dead bodies (when they don't reset before you loot them due to a cut scene) isn't cutting the mustard.. going to have to start hunting/fishing or something.

How does this compare to Ghost Recon Wildlands (for those that played it)?

The weaponry seems more sadistic at the very least.

I just logged in after playing several hours with Nekosan last night.. and am right at the start, watching the unskippable cutscene.. which means all my progress is undone, and so I assume are all the items I bought.. FOR FUCKS SAKE.

God just kill me, why would the game do this? Now I have to redo all the start shit, then unlock the first island, AGAIN. FUCK.

If you weren't the host, you don't get to keep any story progression, but you should retain your character progression (perks/money etc)

Sadly not... I reset all the way, I'd obviously already done the starter island to unlock MP, had to do the whole thing again, no money, no perks.

Nekosan and I spent a bit of time yesterday hunting and I logged out with about $30k on me, going to be annoyed if its reset again.

I decided to get this and have played it most of today.. man those cultists just don't stop coming do they? Funny thing, I even had some Jehovah's Witness(es?) buzz my intercomm this morning and asked if I could spare time to talk... I said sorry, I'm killing cultists. Last thing I heard before I walked away from the intercomm was "What?" Of all the days the JW come to visit... :D

If it only stays for the host, you might want to change up who hosts after a set time, that way if you do have to play a section over again it's not in massive chunks.

^ that's a funny story, I wonder if Jehovah's play video games

the save function seems bugged, a few times I've saved the gave then I find I spawn at a location I respawned at after being killed by a cougar and then have to travel back to where I was though the fast travel does help.

still having fun though, fishing is still good and the beer cold :)

I'm actually glad I had a squad member with me earlier when i decided to do a spot of fishing, as just as I had almost won my battle with a fish I heard a commotion behind me. Turns out a bear had chosen that time to attack the fisherman/shop guy and kill him and then attacked me whilst I was in my own battle with the fish and if it wasn't for Grace Armstrong I would have died too. She killed the bear and saved me, but it made me drop the line and the fish got away and I had been fighting it for quite a while... :angry-fire:

So, what perks have you guys decided are super worth it?

Well I'm out, second time I've logged in only to have reset to some point 10 hours in the past with no money, no guns, no perks.

This is fucking bullshit.

That really sucks Disco. I was so hopeful that they'd finally gotten co-op to work properly on PC this time round. That was the main reason I was thinking about getting it before it got to the bargain bin.

Ubisoft seem to be getting a bit better about game support these days though, so fingers crossed it gets fixed and not ignored.

Pretty much, someone posted on their forum a few days ago with the same issue but no responses yes. If that's the way it is, then the game is unplayable and I might as well have wiped my ass with $75.

When Disco hosts it, do you still lose any progress? Also, has Disco played in SP mode and has he lost that progress as well?

I was going to say I really find the fishing in this game annoying, other then the actual act of trying to catch the fish, the constant attempts to annoy you and distract you with animals attacking while you are fishing or cultists make it anything but peaceful.

That was until I decided to use my gamepad to do it rather than the mouse. First attempt with mouse to catch the Admiral (fish that gets you the 3rd best rod) took about 30+ mins with a mouse and was frustrating as hell. First attempt with the gamepad, I did it in less then 2 mins. I'm now on my way to getting all the top weights for the fish and it is easy peasy.

Also, I really hate the interruptions of being forced to play the storyline with capture squads and the sudden drift into bliss moments and then onto the most (visually gorgeous), but boring as hell monologue cut scenes. I skip any that I get now with the Seeds because those moments break the immersion more then anything.

Overall I love the game, lots of fun and addictive, nothing like mowing down American cultists. Vehicles are no GTA5 but bearable. But sniping the cultists from a massive distance is hugely satisfying and the side missions can be a lot of fun. Also, playing it on ultra and it really is breathtaking beautiful in some areas while you are wandering through the forest and the mountains. I'm two lieutenants down and trying to stretch it out even more. I didn't want to take out Jacob but the game basically forced me into it which was also annoying.

Also why can the AI drivers on their own drive really well, but once they become a squaddie and do the driving they hit every tree, signpost or even rock outcropping on the way to your destination? I even got taken over a cliff in one attempt to shortcut an area...

What are others thoughts on it? Likes, dislikes?
