Borderlands 3!

Post by Mythor » 13 Mar 2019, 14:26

Probably, anyway. Event will be streamed from PAX East, for the 99.9% of us not attending. :)

It's now been almost 5 years since Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel so I'm keen to see if they're bringing some new ideas, meet new characters, etc.

Nothing else known at this point. Come back, two weeks!

Meant to post this earlier. I am keen to see whatever it is, but I don't think I'm keen enough for 5am. :)

Me neither... will probably read up on it on the bus ride to work.

Would be good to get an indication of who is keen to get the game on release... might be able to get a bunch of us together to co-op through the campaign!

Sounds like there'll be extra worlds, but it sure looks like a lot of Pandora still? Other than that big cityscape it all looked pretty familiar.

Still super keen to see what characters will be playable, their ultimate skills, etc etc etc. And guns with legs!

And a release date. >_>

Anybody care that it's an Epic store exclusive for 6 months?

I've heard a lot of hate for the Epic store, though I don't believe I've used it myself.

Not really fussed or surprised. Developers are sick of Gabe taking a 30% cut for doing not a lot, Epic are offering a viable alternative (12% I believe) so companies will take it.

Not fussed here either... namely because I know their model for these games... release the base game, then churn out a mountain of DLC that will cost as much as the base game.

I'll likely wait until the GOTY edition comes out with everything before getting this... unless I get into a co-op group of some sort.

Or I might pick it up with an extra controller on PS4 for some co-op gaming at my bro's place.

My sentiments exactly and will also allow me to choose between the Epic and Steam versions of the games.

Looking very awesome. No more loot ninjas and the addition of level balancing should make playing in groups wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more attractive.

I do like the twists on the 4 classes this time around:

- the soldier class doesn't get a turret... they get a mech!
- the sniper class gets more than just one beast
- the stealth type class isn't a Siren or Ninja but a commando type play style
- the brute is a Siren so will be like a brute on steroids

You can get the new BL2 DLC that bridges BL2 and BL3 now for free until 8 July... something to do whilst we wait for BL3 to go GOTY I suppose.

Finally picked it up last night, started as Moze, got a bit into the intro parts and was joined by friend, then a bit later the rest of her group joined off her and then many hours later I was a long way through the story already. :D

Was fun, but pretty tough in some parts. Even though there's level scaling stuff everything was always a few levels above me and I found out it was the same for my friend. We got pinned down at one choke point with a half dozen badasses and assorted allies wrecking us, but chain resurrecting and whittling away got us through. That fight was probably the hardest for us, the bosses were mostly fairly easy in comparison.

Haven't done aaaaaany of the sidequests yet. The main quest is pretty fun so far though. And the weapon variety is insaaaane already.

Good stuff Mythor! I'm excited to get the game now. Yeah, the weapon variety looks insane this time around. Hoping the skill modifications allows for a good bit of variety as well.

There's apparently a proper end game mode too... similar to the random nature of rifts in Diablo 3.

I'm really enjoying it, I'm playing as Moze as well but I'm stuck on a side mission at the moment on the second planet whose boss is waaaaaay hard.
