Internet Security back on the agenda

I thought I'd raise this as I haven't seen it get as much coverage as the metadata debate. There are plans to allow the ASD (Australian Signals Directorate), which is part of Peter Dutton's new super-ministry, the ability to access the emails, text messages and bank records of all Australian citizens without their knowledge.

I just assumed that even now if they really wanted that stuff they'd take it regardless.

The setup the article talks about does sound worrying though.
